Hello and welcome all voyagers to accompany us on this journey to the Dreamlands. Who are we? We are Starry Wisdom Translation Team, a small passionate fan-translation group dedicated to translating the works of two franchises: Demonbane Mythos and Fortissimo. Due to some complicated circumstances around them, we will give you a brief explanation and our translation goal along the way. Now without further ado, let us begin.

Regarding Demonbane Mythos

Developed by Nitroplus, Demonbane Mythos is a multimedia mecha franchise based on the Cthulhu Mythos, which began as an eroge written by Jin Haganeya in 2003. As of now, only the first game, Deus Machina Demonbane, has been translated, which means that, aside from the first game and (most likely) the anime adaptation, few fans are aware of much of the remainder of this incredible series. Therefore, our long-term goal is to popularize this franchise to the masses even more by bringing our translation of other media like the spin-off light novels, the sequel visual novel Kishin Hishou Demonbane, short stories, and last but not least, the latest installment of the franchise: Zanma Taisen Demonbane.

Of course, our translation won’t be limited to the aforementioned works, but the additional contents that are completely unknown to the public as well! To celebrate this grand opening, we are proud to announce our debut works are the first spin-off novel, Kishin Taidou, and the English patch of Kishin Hishou, namely, “Double Wings Demonbane”. Once we have finished translating these two, we should be able to move on to the rest without any issues.

Regarding Fortissimo

Fortissimo is a battle royale visual novel franchise developed by La’cryma and released in 2010, written by Kamiya Suguru. The first entry has multiple versions, notably Fortissimo EXS//Akkord:nächsten Phase (18+) and Fortissimo FA//Akkord:nächsten Phase (all-ages). It was followed by a sequel, Kadenz fermata//Akkord:fortissimo, for the PS VITA format in 2014 and later ported into PC in 2016 as a collaborative work between La’cryma and MAGES. 

In 2018, an English version of Fortissimo FA was licensed on Steam by SakuraGame, a Chinese localization company. Unfortunately, the localizer itself is widely infamous in the visual novel community for using full-blown, low-quality machine translation and broken English in their official releases, with Fortissimo FA being among the list of works that they have butchered. As a result, their “translation” was critically panned by fans and casual readers alike. Our mission is to fix the damage caused by SakuraGame by re-translating everything from scratch, including other contents in the game that they didn’t bother to translate in the first place. Furthermore, the patch will restore cut contents from older versions and fix most bugs from both original Japanese and Steam version. Fortissimo will be our next project after we are done with Demonbane Mythos for the most part.

About Kadenz fermata, currently we have no plans to translate this game due to the large amount of work that we already have on hand. But nothing is actually fixed in stone, so who knows what will happen in the near future?

Final words

Because our group is small and we have very limited human resources, not to mention that our project leader, Lucas Hood, is sole one who handles the majority of the translation work, we would appreciate it if you could be patient with us. There is no doubt that our translation progress would take a considerable amount of time, as each of us still has a life to deal with. Despite that, we have absolute confidence in our passion and dedication to advance forward, as everyone deserves an overhaul, high-quality translation of these amazing franchises.

We are open to any new translators or proofreaders who would like to join and help us with our projects; the merrier, the better. However, we do NOT accept any form of machine translation. You need to have a good grasp on either Japanese or English. Please rest assured that we will do our best to provide you any necessary assistance during translation.

Requirements:

- Japanese: At least N3 level grammar, preferably N2.

- English: High proficiency, native level.

- Able to work timely on the entrusted projects.
